The Tale of the Flower Fairy & the Frog

Once upon a time there was a lovely Flower Fairy named Sydnalina, who blossomed out of the fall flowers one day. She became a beautiful flying creature who could charm many and spread giggle dust all around the garden.....One day, walking through the garden she met a comical frog named "Schroggy" (which is how London says froggy). They became fast friends.

Together Sydnalina & Schroggy traveled to a party at the watering hole called New Springs. There they went "fishing" and raced for prizes. They did crafts and fun games. They met friends, like the Princess Tanner.

Schroggy got her face painted in a yellow happy face, and Sydnalina got a rainbow!

Sydnalina returned to the garden with a sachel full of chocolate and good cheer.

Schroggy just shrugged her shoulders, rolled her eyes (she does that a LOT), and said, "That's all folks!"

Have a HayDay

Welcome to HayDay! This was a fun United Way sponsored event in Fayetteville the other night. We arrived at the festivities...

First we got our faces painted by our friend Debra! Sydney got a rainbow and London got a "duckie."

Sydney got to pose with Arkansas Razorback mascot Pork Chop!

Mom dumped us all off on "Mama Jenn" (as London calls her).... hee hee! No, really, we just all hung out together and rode the "Track Track" (as Jonah calls the tractor pull / hayride!)

Things that Go Bump in the Night

um, so yeah. funny story... last night was kinda tiring...

we're one of those families who don't have the kids sleep in mom and dad's bed....just how we are. never have done it, never want to, really. mostly, we just covet our own good nights' sleep too much! (smile) but last night was different, to our surprise!

it was about 12:30 in the a.m. (yawn) when we were groggily awakened to the sound of little feet pitter pattering in our dark bedroom straight from the door all the way around to daddy's side. we started to try to focus and sure it was the older, sure-footed child, Marshall says "Sydney, what's wrong?" thinking it was a nightmare or something.

next thing we know London has crawled in between us and covered up like she's right at home! She was wide wide awake! (boy, that new allergy medicine isn't as sleepy-producing as the old one). We put her back to bed successfully (until she woke us up again at 2 am knocking on her door), but couldn't help but giggle.

in the morning I asked London "what were you doing last night?" She smirked and smiled and said "Daddy's bed!" Such a silly girl! Let's hope we get some sleep tonight!

The Girls in Action

Sydney jumping on the trampoline at her friend Callie's house. She is so cute gigglin' & jumpin'!
The other night London ran in circles around the house saying "I runnin' like Daddy....I runnin' like Daddy!" So cute!

Our Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

Sydney pickin' the perfect pumpkin! We took a horse-drawn carriage ride out to this pumpkin patch where we got our choice! We also got to pet donkeys, ponies, goats, and rabbits.

London sittin' on the perfect one....

Syd with her buddies Lillie & Kylee

"Here, donkey donkey!"

Mmmmmm..... eating smores too!

This is London having "storytime" with her dolls all lined up & listening!

Sydney at the library using her own card &
checking out her own books! Sooooo big!

We like to feed the ducks after we go to the library.

Daddy & London love!

We like to make the kids save and roll
their own money. hee hee....

Where is my receipt!?

Ok, so we really need to know if there is some money back guarantee (no) on these "ear tubes" that London was surgically fitted with last October..... Now that summer is over, she's back to her old ways of dripping nasal debris constantly and becoming a tangled mess of bodily infection! (can you tell I like creative writing?) She has literally had monthly ear infections, regardless of tubes or no tubes, except during sunny summer time. (Maybe we should relocate to Hawaii...)

We just had to take London to the doctor this last week for a variety of symptoms that I (Claudia) tried to write off as "allergies," so as not to over-react. She does have awful allergies, mind you, but she also picks up every strain of every cold that is around the block! When we took her in, they found a double ear infection plus a secondary sinus infection! Poor kiddo. Summer seems to be the only time where she is free of this plague. The doctor apologized for predicting (at her 2 year check up) that she might be "outgrowing" all of those infections....

Ah, well, keep us in your prayers. I've heard the next step down the road is removing her tonsils and adenoids to help her more..... better save that receipt too, huh?

What's Your Stuff?

Just a quick more serious note.... just got back from our 4th session in this marriage class at church, after a really good service this morning too. I couldn't help but keep being close to tears all day, just being touched by things around me and people's life stories. Of course, I'm a cryer by nature anyway (says Claudia). Found out this morning about friends of ours who lost a dear friend, who was disabled, this last week. Tonight another one of my friends is spending the night in the hospital with her 1 year old who is having trouble breathing. And another one of my dear friends is just having an all out bad year, with death in the family abounding and a miscarriage in all that too. I just ache for these folks. Wish I could fix it.

Knowing I can't fix it, I just pray for them and try to do what I can to let them know I love them and care for them. But it reminds me of what's important. Truly, "what's your stuff?" What's your "stuff" of life? Is it barking at traffic? Rushing around to get shopping done in a hurried crazy pace? Is it climbing the corporate ladder? Is it pleasing people? Man, what's important, really? What's in the middle of your oreo? What's at the end of your rainbow? What's there when you're all alone and there is nothing left to comfort you? Or answer your questions? I hope and pray that all of us can find It! (Hint: look up!)

Sydney & London visiting the Apple Store (pumpkins too!)

"It's a heavy gourd!" Says London to friend Jonah

London spends much of her day feeding and caring for her babies.

Here is our concert pianist!
